Pedal body
The pedal body is milled from high-strength 7075 aluminum. Through intensive testing with different sizes and shapes, we have succeeded in creating the ideal platform. It offers good support, is highly stable and allows for large-sized bearings.
An offset of the two standing surfaces allows for better gliding when getting caught on stones or roots.
To generate even more grip, the platform is concave. That is, it is flatter in the middle than on the outside. There is only a raised area for storage.

Pins
Pins! Thin,
thick, pointed, long and short, we have tested all possible designs to
to achieve the perfect grip in our FOOTREST. In our tests we came to the conclusion that a 3 mm thick pin with notches fits perfectly in
drills into the shoe and gets stuck in it. We chose stainless steel 316L as the material. The pedals are supplied with 4 & 5 mm pins as standard; if you want more, you can upgrade to the NAGEL MAX pins, which are 7 mm long. -

Plain bearings or ball bearings?
The question comes up directly with pedals. At first we tested
a prototype with a ball bearing inside. The large diameter was disturbing
However, it is massive when standing and we did not want to make the pedal any wider. Another reason against ball bearings is the diameter of the axle; we
wanted to dimension it to 12 mm. In other words, the decision was made quickly
to rely on plain bearings. We rely on IGUS, with a 25 mm wide and therefore extremely large plain bearing we have carried out excellent long-term tests.
Two Enduro Bearings 688 LLB MAX ball bearings were mounted on the outside.
Two platform sizes
For different foot sizes and preferences, we have two sizes. M/L (100x105 mm); XL (110x115 mm).

What size do I need?
We recommend the XL pedal for shoe size 44 and above. Depending on your preference, you can also use large pedals if you have small feet or small pedals if you have large feet.
Do I need the long pins?
NAGEL MAX pins were developed for the ultimate grip. If that's what you're looking for, you've come to the right place.
The downside is that shifting on the pedal is much more difficult. In addition, if you slip, the wounds are much deeper.
We recommend the pins only for very advanced riders.
